Over the last two years, I have been working with inner city and industrial
deterioration, in particular buildings and their materials, presented in a
variety of details and textures.
During my formative years in Europe, I have always been attracted to the "aging
metropolis", to the remains of past generations, which speak to us as much
as literature or paintings do. I find a definite beauty in discarded things.
Is the breakdown of these structures a representation of the breakdown of
our hopes and interests?
